We teach kids and teens how to be responsible, engaged citizens and innovative, resilient leaders through mentorship, accountability and modeling good behavior.
With the guidance of an adult, this unique and dynamic teen leadership development experience provides opportunities for young people ages 14-18. Youth participate, both in and out of the Club, in activities in three focus areas:
- Academic Success
- Career Preparation
- Community Service
This program is a nationally chartered small-group leadership and service club for middle school boys and girls ages 11-13. A Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their development. Torch Club members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas:
- Service to Club and community
- Health and Fitness
- Social Recreation
This program helps cultivate tomorrow’s leaders today. It is available to all Club members ages 10-12. Participants receive valuable tools such as development of interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and a sense of community engagement.
Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club members. Each year, one exceptional young person from a Boys & Girls Club rises to the role of National Youth of the Year, The journey begins locally and progresses to state, regional and national levels.
