The time has finally come! We celebrated the grand opening of our brand new STEM lab in the Ferndale Clubhouse with a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony on October 8th, 2019.

Elected officials, community members, and business representatives came out to celebrate our state-of-the-art STEM lab, made possible by a Phillips 66 grant awarded to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County earlier this year. The new lab boasts 12 new computers, a 3D printer, and drone. Our goal is to peak members’ interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and to ultimately close the opportunity gap for the kids who need us most in our community.

Tim Johnson, Director of Public and Government Affairs for Phillips 66, had the honor of cutting the ribbon, held by board member Carlos Centurion of Phillips 66, and BGCWC Board President Caroline Winfrey. Thank you to all who came out in support of our Clubs!
