🎖 We wrapped up January by celebrating our incredible teens at Youth of the Year 2026.

During the event, we heard from Tommi, our Senior Youth of the Year, who will proudly represent Whatcom County at the State competition in March. Junior Youth of the Year candidates Flame and Belle bravely took the stage to share their Club stories, with Belle earning the title of Junior Youth of the Year.

We are so proud of these amazing teens for the months of hard work and dedication that led up to this important night. A huge thank you to our judges, community members, and our sponsor, Alcoa, for helping make this heart-warming night possible!

Free Community Round Table Event!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County wants to hear from our community! Parents, community members, alumni, partners, and local leaders are encouraged to attend our free upcoming Community Round Table. This event offers an excellent opportunity to ask questions, share insights, and learn about our strategies and priorities for the 2026 calendar year.

We also want to give our early learning families some critical information that may have a direct impact on all families who receive Washington State Working Connections Subsidy to offset the cost of your child’s care.

We believe that in order to serve our community effectively, we must listen to its members to understand their needs. Our goal is to cultivate an organization that embodies the vibrancy, diversity, and values of the community it serves. We kindly invite you to join us at this important gathering and contribute positively to the community.

Last week at the Lynden Clubhouse, kids learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his lasting impact on the Civil Rights Movement.

They then brought those lessons to life by creating a poster and writing down their own hopes and dreams for the future. Hands-on projects like this help kids learn while having fun!
