Testimonials

The Boys & Girls Club played a significant role in assisting me in moving forward and being successful. With the support and motivation of my foster parent, my teachers, and the staff at the Club, I have transformed into a new person who has the desire and ability to go to college and seek a career in social work.
Kim Hines, Whatcom County 2014 Youth of the Year
“I’ve journeyed through elementary, middle, and high school facing many obstacles. I’m near college graduation and I always credit the Boys & Girls Club for supporting me through my adolescence and as a young adult. I cannot picture where I would be in my life without the life lessons and experiences I’ve gained being a Club member.”
Vang Le, Whatcom County & Washington State 2010 Youth of the Year
“Everything you’ve seen or heard about me began with lessons I learned to live by at the Club.”
“Like many Club alumni, I can honestly say I don’t know where I’d be today without the Club. Thanks to Boys & Girls Clubs from the bottom of my heart, for all you have done for me, and for so many others.”
“I always go back to lessons learned at the Club. We discovered there was something higher than ourselves, and that giving back to others was what really mattered.”

Meet Cayne, the Ferndale Clubhouse member of the month for September. Cayne is in second grade and a new member of the Club. Although Canyne has only been a member for a short time he has already had a big impact on the Club. He attends the Club on a daily basis and plays in our Flag Football program. Cayne is polite to adults, kind to other kids, and willing to participate in a variety of activities. Staff are so happy that Cayne is a new Club member and that he has set a good example to other members. Outside of the Club, Cayne loves to read and play Minecraft. His favorite books are the Fly Guy series by Tedd Arnold. We are proud of Cayne and his ability to be a great Club member and a positive influence on others. ... See MoreSee Less

Safety Meeting! Club members at the Blaine Branch spend a few moments with Police Officer Sartain to talk about safety. We are lucky to be directly across the street from the schools but this tempts kids to jaywalk to get to the Club. Not only is this extremely dangerous and against the law, you could also receive a $125 ticket. Take a moment this week to talk to a student about how to cross the street safely. ...
