Testimonials

The Boys & Girls Club played a significant role in assisting me in moving forward and being successful. With the support and motivation of my foster parent, my teachers, and the staff at the Club, I have transformed into a new person who has the desire and ability to go to college and seek a career in social work.
Kim Hines, Whatcom County 2014 Youth of the Year
“I’ve journeyed through elementary, middle, and high school facing many obstacles. I’m near college graduation and I always credit the Boys & Girls Club for supporting me through my adolescence and as a young adult. I cannot picture where I would be in my life without the life lessons and experiences I’ve gained being a Club member.”
Vang Le, Whatcom County & Washington State 2010 Youth of the Year
“Everything you’ve seen or heard about me began with lessons I learned to live by at the Club.”
“Like many Club alumni, I can honestly say I don’t know where I’d be today without the Club. Thanks to Boys & Girls Clubs from the bottom of my heart, for all you have done for me, and for so many others.”
“I always go back to lessons learned at the Club. We discovered there was something higher than ourselves, and that giving back to others was what really mattered.”

We were honored to have Representative Luanne Van Werven visit the Bellingham facility yesterday. Representative Van Werven toured the after-school program and engaged Club Members about her work in the Legislature in Olympia. She also learned about our targeted initiatives to increase local on-time graduation rates and exposure to STEM opportunities at the Club. During the tour of the Teen Center, teen member Jalen spoke with Ms. Van Werven about his interest in politics and she suggested he look into the Senate Page Program... You can bet Jalen was googling that as soon as she left the room! Thank you to the Representative for making the Boys & Girls Club a stop on her tour schedule! ... See MoreSee Less
