Testimonials

The Boys & Girls Club played a significant role in assisting me in moving forward and being successful. With the support and motivation of my foster parent, my teachers, and the staff at the Club, I have transformed into a new person who has the desire and ability to go to college and seek a career in social work.
Kim Hines, Whatcom County 2014 Youth of the Year
“I’ve journeyed through elementary, middle, and high school facing many obstacles. I’m near college graduation and I always credit the Boys & Girls Club for supporting me through my adolescence and as a young adult. I cannot picture where I would be in my life without the life lessons and experiences I’ve gained being a Club member.”
Vang Le, Whatcom County & Washington State 2010 Youth of the Year
“Everything you’ve seen or heard about me began with lessons I learned to live by at the Club.”
“Like many Club alumni, I can honestly say I don’t know where I’d be today without the Club. Thanks to Boys & Girls Clubs from the bottom of my heart, for all you have done for me, and for so many others.”
“I always go back to lessons learned at the Club. We discovered there was something higher than ourselves, and that giving back to others was what really mattered.”

Members of the Blaine Torch Club (a small-group leadership and service club for boys and girls ages 11 to 13) enjoyed a trip to Marine Park to enjoy the final warm days of Fall and explore the future site of Blaine's newest and largest playground. Thank you BP Cherry Point Refinery for inviting the Bellingham Teen Center to be part of their Community Open House last week! Our teens enjoyed a full tour of the facility, while learning about the variety of careers available at BP, and the schooling needed to work in such a refinery. The teens were also educated about the refining process of crude oil to other petroleum products. Their favorite part, of course, was the generous picnic provided by BP, and enjoying the recreational areas for the employees. Thank you, BP Cherry Point Refinery for the great experience! ...
