Testimonials

The Boys & Girls Club played a significant role in assisting me in moving forward and being successful. With the support and motivation of my foster parent, my teachers, and the staff at the Club, I have transformed into a new person who has the desire and ability to go to college and seek a career in social work.
Kim Hines, Whatcom County 2014 Youth of the Year
“I’ve journeyed through elementary, middle, and high school facing many obstacles. I’m near college graduation and I always credit the Boys & Girls Club for supporting me through my adolescence and as a young adult. I cannot picture where I would be in my life without the life lessons and experiences I’ve gained being a Club member.”
Vang Le, Whatcom County & Washington State 2010 Youth of the Year
“Everything you’ve seen or heard about me began with lessons I learned to live by at the Club.”
“Like many Club alumni, I can honestly say I don’t know where I’d be today without the Club. Thanks to Boys & Girls Clubs from the bottom of my heart, for all you have done for me, and for so many others.”
“I always go back to lessons learned at the Club. We discovered there was something higher than ourselves, and that giving back to others was what really mattered.”

Bellingham Branch members caught the running bug this summer, with the help of our new Brooks Running Club! For the past 6 weeks, Running Club participants have been learning to exercise safely with a good warm up and stretching, building agility through high intensity running activities like obstacle courses and relays, as well as strength training with core work and plyometrics. Running Coach, Miss Elizabeth, encourages the members to be safe, try their hardest and to challenge themselves. Once members had a good foundation for a healthy routine, they set their running goals and had FUN while running! To ensure the running club members had proper running footwear, FIFTEEN of the runners received brand new running shoes from Brooks! Thank you Brooks Running for helping our club members challenge themselves to get out and RUN! Located in Seattle, WA, Brooks partnered with 20 Boys & Girls Clubs around Washington, to help youth learn about fitness, running and Healthy Lifestyles, which is one of three targeted focus areas for Boys & Girls Club program delivery. #BrooksRunning ... We are so proud to say that we have a mutton bustin', cowboy in training with us here at the Lynden Clubhouse. Sully participated in the Northwest Washington Fair on August 13 in the PRCA Rodeo. Sully was in the mutton bustin' group. Mutton bustin' is sheep riding for younger kids. This was Sully's first time participating and he loved it! "My favorite part was getting a bloody lip." Sully was amazed to meet a professional cowboy who had the same name! He also wants to become a professional cowboy when he grows up so it was very exciting to share his first rodeo experience in his hometown. (4 photos) ... See MoreSee Less
